Joseph M. Puzo
Joseph M. Puzo is a founding member of the firm. He was admitted to the Bar in 1992. He has more than twenty years of insurance defense experience and has tried cases in all New York City boroughs as well as in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Mr. Puzo was named as a “Super Lawyer” in the 2013 edition of the “Super Lawyers” publication. Mr. Puzo attended C.W. Post College (B.A. 1984) and Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, Touro College (J.D. 1991). He is admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and to the U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit, and is a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association, New York State Bar Association and Nassau-Suffolk Trial Lawyers Association.
William E. Morrissey
William Morrissey is an accomplished trial attorney with more than twenty years of trial experience who has tried cases in all five boroughs of New York City, Nassau and Suffolk counties as well as in the Eastern District and Southern District Districts of New York. A graduate of Washington and Lee University School of Law in 1989, Mr. Morrissey immediately began working as an associate at the law firm of Curtis, Vasile Devine & McElhenney and was eventually elevated to partner. He joined Zaklukiewicz and Puzo in 2002. Over his career, Mr. Morrissey has tried cases for Metropolitan Suburban Bus Authority, New York City Transit Authority, Long Island Railroad, Allstate, State Farm, Royal, Nationwide, St. Paul, Travelers, Lancer, Preferred Mutual, U.S.F&G, Nassau County, Suffolk County, Claims Service Burea of New York, Cunningham Lindsey, NYS Liquidation Bureau, State Insurance Fund, Waldbaums and many local municipalities and private clients. Mr. Morrissey is a member of the New York State Bar Association, Torts, Insurance and Compensation Law Section and of the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute and is currently serving on the New York State Bar Association Committee on the Tort System.
Stephen F. Zaklukiewicz
Stephen F. Zaklukiewicz, an Associate of the firm, was admitted to the Bar in 1995. With nearly twenty years of negligence defense experience, Stephen has tried cases in all five boroughs of the City of New York and in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Stephen is a regular presence in Kings Supreme where he currently handles most of his trials. He attended St. Bonaventure University (1987) and St. John’s University School of Law (J.D. 1994). He is admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, the New York State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
Maria Caraballo-Mitra
Maria Caraballo-Mitra is a new associate with the firm. She was admitted to the New York and New Jersey bar in 1997. Prior to working for Zaklukiewicz, Puzo and Morrissey she worked for several different defense firms including Cheven,Keely & Hatzis, The Law Offices of Gregory Parisi and Picciano & Scahill. She also had her own practice for approximately eight years where she provided per diem services to various plaintiff and defense firm, handling court appearances and deposition on their behalf in the five boroughs, Nassau and Suffolk county. She began her legal career doing plaintiff work at the Law offices of Fitzgerald and Fitzgerald located in Yonkers, New York. She has experience in all areas of negligence work including, bench trials, mediations, arbitrations, motions and depositions. She attended St John’s University (B.A.1988) and Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, Touro College (J.D.1997). She was a past member of the NY Bar Association and the Nassau County Bar Association.
Craig M. Dolinger, Esq.
Craig M. Dolinger joined the firm as an associate in 2016. He has 20 years of personal injury experience. He has experience in all areas of negligence defense including trials, motion practice, depositions, mediations and arbitrations. He has successfully tried cases in most New York jurisdictions. Prior to joining the firm, Craig spent a majority of his career with McAndrew, Conboy & Prisco where he focused on premises liability. Craig graduated from Stony Brook University in 1993 and then attended New England School of law in Boston where he graduated with honors in 1996. While in law school Craig was on Law Review and received the American Jurisprudence Award in both Torts and Professional Responsibility. Craig is admitted to the New York State Bar as well as the Federal Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. He is currently a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association.
Joseph Ferrette
Joseph Ferrette received a B.A. with High Honors in History from Hofstra University in 1975. He received a J.D. From Fordham Law School’s Evening Division in 1985, while working full time as a claims examiner for the Medical Liability Mutual Insurance Company. He is admitted to the Bar of the State of New York as well the Federal Courts of the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York . He has represented defendants in personal injury litigation involving: medical malpractice; hospital liability; automobile liability; worksite injuries; asbestos exposure and lead paint poisoning. He was an associate with among others: Leahey & Johnson; Kelly, Rode & Kelly; Montfort, Healy, McGuire & Salley and DeSena & Sweeney.
